About Me

Originally from Saddleworth on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border, I came to live in France over 20 years ago.

After working in plant nurseries and garden centre management, in England, I became self-employed and started a gardening/landscaping business, which I ran for a few years before moving to France. Shortly after I came here I started a similar business to the one I had in England.

I enjoy my work, and I’m passionate about gardening – especially re-establishing gardens to their former glory. Also, I enjoy creating worthwhile spaces out of what was once a mess. That said, I enjoy doing most gardening work.

My other passions in life are sculpting in oak, and keeping my smallholding going – ‘mon petit coin de France’.

Unfortunately, there is a global shift towards genetically altered, patented, non-organic, fruit, veg, herb, and plant seeds. Natural, local, and biodiverse spieces are becoming increasingly harder to find. Losing these species will be catastrophic for us in the long-run, and GM foods are not a healthy alternative.

However, there are still some outlets where we can buy natural, heritage seeds. If we all bought, and grew, at least some seeds from these remaining outlets, then it’s possible that we could keep them alive, along with the plant species they are trying to save.
